THE COSY COTTON BAND & GRANA`LOUISE.
The Cosy Cotton Band was formed in 1986. All members already played in famous Dutch Blues bands. During the late Eighties, The Cosy Cotton Band toured Holland, Germany and Belgium while also accompanying many American Blues players touring in Europe. That was a great success! The band was invited to play during important Blues and Jazz Festivals, either as an opening act or joining programs with big names such as BB King, Ray Charles, Robert Cray, Blues Brothers Band, Johnny Adams, Chaka Kahn, and many, many others. Dutch Blues festivals selected The Cosy Cotton Band as the main act and from that, a CD was recorded. It sold out very quickly and the record company had to release more stock than anticipated.
As result of the good sales and its success, the Band won the Benelux Blues Award in 1989. (A very prestigious award!) This accolade resulted in the awarding of a Belgian and German tour as well as Live Radio and Television appearances. These happened in 1990 and were extreme successful.
In 1993, members of the band started their own private businesses and, as expected, time pressure ended the activities of the official band. Even so, everyone remained great friends, had terrific memories and always kept on playing the Blues for their own enjoyment.
The four members of the Cosy Cotton Band are happy! And this because Chicago based Blues singer Grana`Louise will be belting out her songs together with them.
Bert Devies (guitar), Boudy Loogman (bass guitar) and Alexander van Meerten (drums) are the original members of the 1980’s band, Now, more than 25 years later three of the band’s musicians have gotten together for a blues revival show and the bug bit again! Rave reviews and success accompanies the performances of the group, which takes its audience on a musical Blues trip from Chicago to the swamps of southern states of America like Louisiana, culminating in the cotton fields of Alabama and Tennessee. Together with fantastic singer Grana`Louise from Chicago and her powerful, awesome voice Cosy Cotton is sure to soar. .A joy to all Blues and Music fans because, these days, Blues music is fully back in the spotlight and has everybody’s interest.
